Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Mission Athletics (“Mission Athletics,” “we,” or “us”), the athletics hub of Mission Viejo High School, handles information when you use our website at missionathletics.organd our mobile app (collectively, the “Services”). The mobile app presents the same Services within a native shell.

Information We Collect

We collect only what we need to run Diablo athletics programs:

  • Account & sign-in. When staff or students sign in, we receive your name, email address, and basic profile from your Google school account. Sign-in is limited to approved school and district accounts.
  • Athlete & roster information. Program rosters and related athlete details are entered and managed by the Athletic Department to administer teams, schedules, and eligibility.
  • Consent records. Where required, we record participation and media consents associated with an athlete.
  • Payments. Payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We receive confirmation and limited details (such as amount and payer email) but never collect or store full card numbers.
  • Mobile & notifications. If you use the app and enable notifications, we store a device push token so we can send you updates (for example, a payment confirmation). You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.
  • Technical data. Like most online services, our servers automatically log standard request data (such as IP address and timestamps) to operate and secure the Services.

How We Use Information

  • Operate the Services and the parent/student portal.
  • Administer programs, rosters, schedules, and consents.
  • Process payments and send related confirmations.
  • Send notifications you have enabled.
  • Maintain the security, integrity, and reliability of the Services.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

How Information Is Shared

We share information only with service providers that help us run the Services, under agreements that limit their use of it:

  • Google Firebase (Google Cloud) — sign-in, database, file storage, and hosting.
  • Stripe— payment processing. Stripe’s handling of payment data is governed by its own privacy policy.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of the school community.

Student Information

Mission Athletics supports a school athletics program, and some information relates to students. We use student information solely for legitimate educational and athletic-program purposes, consistent with the school district’s obligations under applicable student-privacy laws (including FERPA). We do not sell student information or use it for advertising.

Children’s Privacy

The Services are intended for the high-school community and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.

Data Retention & Security

We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by the school and applicable law, then delete or de-identify it. We protect information with encryption in transit and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your information.

Your Choices

  • Turn notifications on or off in your device settings.
  • Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information by contacting us (see below). For student records, requests may be routed through the school or district.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
